HOTEL THE MITSUI HAKONE, a Luxury Collection Hotel

HOTEL THE MITSUI HAKONE is scheduled to open on 15 December 2026 in Kowakudani, Hakone. It is the second HOTEL THE MITSUI property after Kyoto. The 135,500 m² site sits inside Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, around two minutes on foot from Kowakidani Station, on land historically linked to Mitsui family mountain villas. The 126 rooms are planned to range from approximately 48 m² Deluxe rooms to villas over 100 m² and a presidential suite of about 240 m². Each room will have a private bath supplied by the hotel’s natural hot spring, plus a balcony or terrace. Yabu Pushelberg is designing the interiors, while Takenaka Corporation is responsible for design and construction. Dining plans include Japanese restaurant Sankei, all-day restaurant RIVERINE and The Bar LAMBENT. Guests will also have indoor and outdoor thermal spring baths, a spa with five treatment rooms, the SHIKI-AN annex, a fitness gym and meeting space. Mitsui Fudosan Resort Management will operate the hotel as part of Marriott’s The Luxury Collection and Marriott Bonvoy.
